Public Administration Institute for Turkey and Middle East (PAITME) was founded in accordance with the technical assistance agreement signed between the Republic of Turkey and the United Nations in 1952. Celebrating its 64th anniversary today, PAITME has gained the reputation of being the most influential and prestigious institute of public administration not only in Turkey, but also in the geography of Middle East, the Balkans, and the Caucasus, all of which are known to constitute the neighboring regions of Turkey. Incorporating the education, research and publishing activities in the field of public administration, PAITME is not only an academic institution providing theoretical knowledge, but also the center of sharing the bureaucratic experience.
Along With its education, research and publication activities, PAITME has a highly respectable reputtion both within Turkey and the world. Graduate programs of the Institute are the only ones in Turkey which have been accredited by the European Association for Public Administration Accreditation. Besides, Amme Ŭdaresi Dergisi (Journal of Public Administration), one of the six journals of PAITME, has been indexed by the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). The research activities being conducted by the Institute in various scopes, provides an essential guideline for public administration.
Today, PAITME has gained the status of "Modern Enderûn" for Turkey and its neighboring regions. In this respect, Public Administration Research and Training Center for Caucasus was established in 2014 in cooperation with the Academy of Public Administration (Azerbaijan), having public bureaucracy of Azerbaijan as its main target object. Moreover, International Advanced Public Executive Master Program (APEP) and Public Administration PhD. Programme which are conducted in English were formed for public administrators of the allied and friendly countries of Turkey. In the academic year of 2015-2016, about 340 students enrolled to our graduate programmes, 40 of which are from the allied and friendly countries.
We will be proud to see the senior manager candidates both from Turkey and the allied countries in our Institute.
